Why Saturday Mornings Deserve a Little Adventure
There is something different about a Saturday morning.
The week hasn’t quite found you yet.
The phone may still be quiet. The errands can wait another hour. The coffee tastes a little better when you don’t have to drink it while rushing out the door.
And for just a little while, the day still feels like it belongs to you.
That feeling is where The Saturday Journey Society began.
An Invitation to Go Somewhere
Every Saturday morning, members of the Society receive a new Journey from Gabriel Ashford.
Gabe travels aboard his boat, The Journeyman, with a camera, a journal, an orange tabby named Auggie, and an unfortunate tendency to stumble into stories he wasn’t looking for.
Some Saturdays there is a mystery.
Some Saturdays there is an old letter, a forgotten photograph, a hidden place, or a person with a story that has waited years to be told.
And sometimes the best part of the Journey is simply sitting with Gabe beside the water while the sun comes up.
The Journeys are meant to be read slowly.
With coffee.
Maybe still in your pajamas.
Preferably before anyone starts asking you to do anything.
Part Story, Part Escape, Part Something You Can Hold
The Saturday Journey Society isn’t simply a story delivered by email.
Each Journey is designed as a printable experience filled with letters, journal pages, photographs, keepsakes, clues, and little pieces of the places Gabe visits along the way.
Readers can save them, print them, tuck them into a journal, follow the mysteries, or simply read the story and disappear somewhere else for a while.
There is no race to finish.
There is nowhere you have to be.
You simply open the Journey and go.
The Story Is Growing
Gabe’s travels have already taken him along the coast, through old harbors, historic towns, hidden places, and stories left behind by people who lived long before he arrived.
And the farther he travels, the more his world seems to expand.
There are friendships forming.
Old mysteries resurfacing.
A certain woman named Clara who has become rather difficult for him not to think about.
And, of course, Auggie—who generally believes every adventure would be improved if everyone stopped what they were doing and paid attention to the cat.
We don’t know exactly where every road, river, or stretch of coastline will lead.
That is part of the fun.
Your First Journey Is Free
If you’ve never traveled with Gabe before, you can begin at the beginning.
